CHS grad Samuel Dent receives Ph.D

Dr. Samuel Dent, a 2012 graduate of Clinton High School, recently completed his Ph.D. in applied mathematics and computational analysis at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Dent received his bachelor’s degree in pure mathematics from The University of Southern Mississippi, his Master’s degree in pure mathematics from Tennessee Tech University, and an additional Master’s degree in applied mathematics from Florida State University. While at Clinton High School, Dent was active in the Clinton High School Band. He was named the Most Intellectual and the Valedictorian of the Class of 2012. Dent is employed as a mathematician at ERDC, the Corp of Engineers, in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
