This spring, Mississippi’s students have a chance to win some scholarship money by entering the 2024 College Savings Art Contest.
With entries open through February 29, the contest will award $7,000 worth of scholarship money to students from pre-K to twelfth grade. Students are asked to submit an original piece of artwork that answer the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
The contest is open to any Mississippi student from pre-K to twelfth grade, whether in a classroom, through an afterschool program, or by homeschooling. A $1,000 Mississippi Affordable College Savings (MACS) scholarship will be awarded to the first place contestant in each of the age categories, which are:
• Pre-kindergarten through second grade
• Third through fifth grades
• Sixth through eighth grades
• Ninth through twelfth grades
In addition, a second-place prize of a $500 MACS scholarship and a third-place prize of a $250 MACS scholarship will be awarded in each category.
Students in pre-K through second grade should submit their artwork on an official entry form. Students in third through twelfth grades should submit their original 8.5” by 11” artwork using a medium of their choice.
