Hinds CC Humanities Instructor of the Year presentation set

Frederick MelanconHinds Community College English Instructor Frederick Melancon will present “Authoring Your Story Through Work” as his Hinds 2024 Humanities Teacher of the Year presentation.


The event will be held 12:45 p.m.-1:45 p.m. March 20 in Reeves 165 on the Raymond Campus with a reception to follow in the Marie Hull Art Gallery. The event is open to the public.


A Clinton resident, Melancon will present his work “story” and how he pursues his passions through his career. “The discussion will focus on the skills learned from creative writing and how to apply those tips to better realize or more fulfilling professional work experience in the humanities,” he said.


A seven-year employee of Hinds, he has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Orleans and two master degrees, including a Master of Arts in Teaching from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Master of Arts with an emphasis in creative writing from the University of South Mississippi.
