Pepper tours Australia with Lions Band

     Mason Pepper, who served as snare drummer for Clinton High School and team leader for several years, was selected during his senior year as drummer for the elite Mississippi All State Lions Band. Pepper was the only Clintonian selected after several months of audition. He was also selected for the All State Jazz Band.

     The band members reported to Pearl River Community College in early June for a week of Boot Camp, then flew to Sydney, Australia, then on to Melbourne and participated in the highly-esteemed competition. They performed in a few other venues, and then toured and enjoyed a ten-day adventure.

     Pepper is a 2024 graduate of Clinton High School and is currently continuing his education on ACT and music scholarships at Hinds Community College, where he is in the marching band and the jazz band, is first chair in wind ensemble and is also in the pan ensemble.
