Job Extravaganza held for CPSD students

Goodwill Industries of Mississippi, in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS), recently hosted a Job Extravaganza at the Clinton Public School District (CPSD) Administration Building. The event brought together sixty-one students from CPSD with diverse learning needs, providing them with valuable exposure to career paths and connections to local businesses.

Twelve businesses participated, each offering insights into various industries and hands-on experiences for the students. Students had the opportunity to visit with representatives and learn about opportunities available to them from Lobaki, Build Mississippi, Entergy, Clinton Police Department, Clinton Fire Department, B1 Nursing, Hinds Community College, Continental Tires, McNeely Plastics, Milwaukee Tools, the U.S. Military Recruiter, Brown Bottling Group and Goodwill Industries of Mississippi.

During lunch, attendees listened to Christy Dunaway, a motivational speaker and triple amputee, who shared her story with the students, inspiring them to overcome obstacles and pursue their goals with determination.
