November Yard of the Month

115 Pebble Lane is the November Yard of the Month.
A Welcome Fall sign and seasonal door decorations highlight the 115 Pebble Lane home of Laquita White, whose lawn has been recognized as the November Yard of the Month.
“A lovely yard,” stated the person who nominated the site.
White calls her lawn a lesson in recognizing the good that can emerge from less-than-fortunate circumstances, pointing out that her intense interest in her yard work began during the shelter-in-place days imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
She had moved from Jackson in 2015 and depended on knockout roses for the yard until 2020, when she had more time to concentrate on a variety of plants. Pansies now encircle the mailbox for fall and winter, with annuals such as petunias and zinnias planned for spring and summer. All colors of drift roses are highlights of the landscape, dark and light pink, red, peach and coral.
The impressive impact of elephant ears are favorites of White, who has crepe myrtle trees located in both the front and back yards. Shady areas demand plants like hostas as well as pink encore azaleas. White stays busy with yard maintenance, from planting, nurturing, weeding and keeping insects at bay but admits she allows the mowing chore to be outsourced.
