Grove signs with Hinds for baseball
The Clinton High School baseball team, coaches, family and friends recently celebrated Jack Grove’s signing of his national letter of intent to play for the Hinds Community College baseball team.
Grove says it was an easy decision to pick the Eagles, extending his playing career and pursuing his commercial aviation degree for the next few years.
“I want to pursue a commercial aviation degree, and being able to play baseball while I do that is a dream come true for me,” Grove said. “Being part of the Eagle family and playing for Coach [Dan] Rives and Coach [Josh] Clarke is something I’m looking forward to. I’m ready to work hard for them.”
Grove is a right-handed pitcher, with an 87-mile-per-hour max fastball. He relies on an effective curveball, slider and change-up in his arsenal. He was named to a 2024 Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American team. Additionally, Grove was named to the 2024 Perfect Game High School Showdown All-Tournament team.
Grove was selected to represent Clinton at the 2024 State Games of Mississippi in Meridian. He was primarily utilized as a relief pitcher last season. His compiled stats for the 2024 season are a 2.73 ERA, 45 innings pitched, with 49 strikeouts.
“I’m excited to take on a bigger role for Coach [Sam] Temple here at Clinton this year,” Grove said about the upcoming 2025 season.
Clinton opens the 2025 baseball season with a jamboree against Warren Central High School and Brookhaven High School on Saturday, February 8, at Arrow Field.

Jack Grove, surrounded by family, coaches and friends, signed a letter of intent to play for Hinds Community College next year.
