Lee Logan Announces Candidacy for Ward 3 Alderman in Clinton

Proudly born & raised in Clinton, I am excited to announce my candidacy for Ward 3 Alderman. For over 36 years, this place has been my home, and I have a deep appreciation for Clinton’s rich history, strong sense of community, and small-town charm. After graduating from Clinton High School in 2006, I attended Mississippi State where I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. From there, I moved back to Clinton where I am now the lead Welding & ASME Code engineer for Entergy’s nuclear fleet. My wife, Amber and I love raising our children, Lena & Robbie, here because Clinton offers a welcoming atmosphere, top-tier schools, and ever-evolving parks and recreational areas.

My parents, Rob & Mel Logan, instilled a strong sense of community service and volunteerism in me at an early age from participating in construction of the original Kids’ Towne playground to earning my Eagle Scout rank at 15. As an adult, I’ve continued that commitment by volunteering for events and ongoing projects on Main Street Clinton’s design and art committees. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Main Street Clinton and Clinton Community Nature Center. My parents being alumni of Leadership Clinton inspired me to apply to the 2023 class which helped me build upon my understanding of the city’s history, department functions, and relationships with the current and future leaders of our city.

In addition to community service, I bring 15 years of experience in engineering and project management, specializing in navigating state and federal codes and regulations to ensure projects meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. I also served as department budget coordinator for over 5 years. My expertise in infrastructure development, problem-solving, budget forecasting, and strategic planning will allow me to contribute meaningfully to Clinton’s growth while maintaining its unique character.

Some of my key priorities include:

Economic Growth & Development – Through my relationships with local business owners and my role on the Main Street Clinton board, I will work to foster smart economic development in our historic downtown and business corridors.

Infrastructure & City Services – My engineering background will help facilitate improvements in roads, utilities, and other essential services to enhance quality of life for residents.

Sidewalks & Walkability – With a passion for health & safety, I want to make Clinton more pedestrian-friendly by improving sidewalk infrastructure and connectivity. Improving our sidewalks will make our community safer, more accessible and also encourage a healthier lifestyle by promoting outdoor activity for all ages.

Ward 3 is one of the most diverse areas in Clinton, from traditional neighborhoods to large-lot properties and rural homes with acreage. Having lived in each of these settings, along with my engineering background, I understand the unique needs and concerns of all residents. My goal is to ensure that Clinton continues to grow while preserving the charm and history that make it such a special place.

I look forward to meeting with residents, hearing your concerns, and working together to make Clinton the best it can be. My phone is always on – I want to be the voice for my neighbors in Ward 3. I would greatly appreciate your vote on April 1st at Traceway Park.
