Services available for local severe weather information

Clinton and Hinds County both use emergency alert systems to inform citizens during potential weather threats, and Clintonians are encouraged to sign up for both to receive critical updates on severe weather and other emergencies.

CodeRED is the City of Clinton’s 24/7 emergency alert system, sending messages to landlines, cell phones and email with severe weather and evacuation notifications.

Citizens of Clinton with a landline have been automatically enrolled through the 911 database, but those who would like to receive alerts via cell, text or email, may enroll by visiting the CodeRED enrollment website. Code Red also has a mobile app, which provides additional access to emergency notifications and general information directly from a smartphone.

In addition to CodeRED, Hinds County Emergency Management also has an alert system. Residents who would like to receive Hinds County alerts via phone, text, email, and mobile app push notifications are encouraged to sign up for Everbridge, as well.

Signup links to both systems are available at ClintonMS.org/service/codered/.

For important updates and recovery information, text “Clinton” to 91896.
