Escape room mystery offered for Living Young program
The Clinton Courier
Clinton’s Living Young intern, Samoia Toy, has prepared a special activity for Clintonians ages 50+, offering the opportunity to participate in “The Toy Box Mystery.”
On April 11, participants can uncover clues, tackle puzzles and step into a whirlwind of interactive fun in a creative, brain-bending “escape room” adventure.
Four group sessions will be offered – at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The session is free, but advance registration is required.
To register for an escape room session, call the Clinton Department of Therapeutic Recreation at 601-924-6387.
Other upcoming Living Young special activities include the Wood Center Cinema on April 7, with a showing of Annie (2014) at 1:30 p.m. Then, on April 16, program participants are invited to a “Meet and Eat” at Mississippi College at 11:30 a.m. For $10.50, attendees can enjoy food, conversation and connections over lunch together.
Following the Meet and Eat will be a craft session of pinch pot flower-making at 2 p.m. at the Wood Center. Pottery pros and total newbies are welcome to attend the hands-on workshop, which will include a twisting and shaping activity that will result in one-of-a-kind floral creations.
Other regular Living Young offerings include fitness classes; line dancing; craft opportunities; dominoes, bridge and card game sessions; music workshops; and meditation and reflection sessions.
For more information about the Living Young program, to register for activities, or to receive their newsletter and calendar of events, call 601-924-6387. The Wood Activity Center is located at 111 Clinton Boulevard.
