Keep Clinton Beautiful has cemetery workday

The Keep Clinton Beautiful organization recently met on a Saturday morning to provide some cleanup for the Odd Fellows Cemetery, which is located off of Fairmont Street. The cemetery, which was dedicated in 1857, has burials that date back to as early as 1830. Volunteers trimmed limbs, cleared brush, cut weeds and raked.

As part of the Keep Mississippi Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful networks, the Keep Clinton Beautiful program is dedicated to enhancing the town’s appearance, building community pride and creating a cleaner, greener Clinton.

Currently, Keep Clinton Beautiful is managed within The Clinton Courier organization, with a goal of establishing it as an independent non-profit by 2026. Memberships and more information are available online at www.KeepClintonBeautiful.com, as well as on Facebook at “Keep Clinton Beautiful.”
