Mississippi College (3-1, 0-0 GSC) posted its highest scoring output of the season Saturday afternoon, rolling past Belhaven (2-3, 0-0 CCS) with a 103-78 victory at A.E. Wood Coliseum. The Choctaws secured their second straight home win by controlling the boards 61-37 and converting 26 second-chance points.

MC set the tone early with a fast offensive start. Marcel Bridges opened the scoring with a layup at 19:21 and led the early surge, adding multiple drives to the rim and punctuating the first half with a fast-break dunk at the 4:26 mark. The Choctaws’ presence inside was dominant, producing 20 points in the paint before halftime. Judah Land anchored the defensive effort with key rebounds and two blocks.

The momentum carried into the second half as Avaughn Johnson drained a three-pointer to push the lead to 20. Phil Nelson added a fast-break jumper moments later, extending MC’s control. Belhaven attempted to stay within reach behind a three-pointer from Dan Robinson at 18:21, but the Blazers were unable to slow Mississippi College’s pace.

MC’s bench continued the pressure, matching Belhaven’s reserves with 29 points. Amari George fueled the inside attack, finishing a perfect 6-of-6 from the field while cleaning up the glass with a team-high 12 rebounds.
