As the holidays approach, it’s easy to feel pulled in every direction — schedules fill up, routines get off track, and health habits can slide to the bottom of the list. But staying healthy through the holidays doesn’t have to be complicated. This season, I’m encouraging my clients to simplify their focus and get back to the basics — the 3 Ws: Water, Workouts and Whole Food Nutrition.
1. Water
Before another cup of coffee or holiday latte, start with water. Staying hydrated supports energy, focus, digestion, and even helps curb sugar cravings. A simple goal: drink about half your body weight (in pounds) in ounces of water each day. (For example: if you weigh 150 pounds, aim for 75 ounces of water per day.) Add lemon, cucumber or mint for flavor and freshness. Hydration is one of the easiest ways to feel better fast.
2. Workouts
You don’t need a gym membership or long workouts to stay active — just keep your body moving daily. Go for a walk after dinner, try a quick home workout, or stretch while watching TV. The goal is consistency, not perfection. Movement boosts your metabolism, lifts your mood and helps manage holiday stress.
3. Whole Food Nutrition
This isn’t about restriction — it’s about nourishment. Focus on real, whole foods: lean proteins, colorful fruits and veggies, healthy fats and unprocessed grains. Enjoy your favorite holiday treats, but pair them with balanced meals that keep you feeling satisfied and energized. When you fill your plate with foods that fuel you, there’s naturally less room for the rest.
This November, I’m encouraging you to focus on hydration, movement and nourishment — simple habits that help you stay consistent and strong without burnout or guilt. Small, intentional choices now can keep your energy high and your mindset steady as the busy season arrives.
So, remember your 3 Ws — Water, Workouts and Whole Food Nutrition. Keep it simple, stay consistent, and finish the year feeling your best.
