Several Clintonians recently joined forces to host a “Clinton Family and Friends Day,” with the purpose of honoring older loved ones and getting friends together to celebrate with them.
The day gave attendees the opportunity to celebrate the invaluable contributions of local senior citizens, with their wealth of experience and wisdom, who have played a pivotal role in shaping the community which Clintonians cherish today.

Seniors were recognized for the significant impact their efforts have made in organizing events and providing support to those in need.

“It’s about giving back and staying connected with the community,” says Rita and Lyn Castor.

As an additional way to honor them, there was a balloon release and candles lit in memory of those who have passed away. Other outstanding members were present and recognized. There were also games and activities performed.

Organizers say that their guidance and support have helped shape the futures of countless individuals.

“Mentoring is a way to share my experiences and help others navigate their paths,” they explained.

Organizers say the day served to show that the Clinton community recognizes and appreciates the hard work and dedication of all of its seniors, and that their contributions are a testament to the strength and resilience of the community. It also served as a reminder of the importance of honoring and supporting them.

This event was supported by Pastor Clyde Robinson, Pastor Stacy Brown, Mildred Grisby-Garrett, Glenn Hulitt, Robert Jackson, Perry Martin, Erick Edwards, Jobie Martin, Eunice William, Lorraine Carr, Helen Harris, Eunice Williams and Marcus Ruckers. Organizers plan to continue the celebration annually.
