As I begin my new term as Alderwoman, I have outlined a focused and practical agenda aimed at strengthening our city’s infrastructure, enhancing quality of life for residents and ensuring long-term community safety. My priorities center on three core areas: improving water drainage, continuing investment in parks and recreation, and supporting our police and fire departments.
One of my foremost goals is addressing the city’s longstanding water-drainage challenges. In recent years, several neighborhoods have experienced increased flooding due to aging infrastructure and heavier seasonal rainfall. I plan to work closely with City engineers to identify and prioritize critical drainage problem areas, secure funding for necessary upgrades and ensure that long-term solutions—not temporary fixes—are implemented. By focusing on modern, resilient drainage systems, I aim to better protect homes, businesses and roadways while improving our overall storm preparedness.
Alongside infrastructure improvements, I am committed to continuing the momentum in revitalizing our parks and recreation facilities. I believe that well-maintained, accessible parks are essential to our city’s identity and family life. My goals include updating aging equipment, expanding programming for both youth and seniors, and exploring opportunities for new walking trails and recreational spaces. By investing in these shared public areas, I hope to promote a healthier community and strengthen neighborhood connections.
Community safety remains a cornerstone of my platform. I recognize that strong police and fire departments are essential to maintaining public trust, rapid response times and overall safety. I will continue to advocate for updated equipment, improved facilities and ongoing training opportunities for both departments. I also support initiatives that foster positive relationships between first responders and the residents they serve.
My agenda reflects my belief in practical, community-centered leadership. By focusing on infrastructure, recreation and safety, I aim to build a strong foundation that supports growth while preserving the values that make our community feel like home. Through collaboration, careful planning and continued engagement with residents, I look forward to making meaningful progress throughout my term. And, as always, I am WORKING FOR YOU.
