Clinton High School Basketball After Struggling in District Play
With four games remaining in the men’s and women’s basketball seasons, both teams enter with different goals for the final four games. The women sit 12-10 overall but 2-4 in district play. The men however enter the home stretch at 4-18, and an 0-5 record in district play.
On the women’s side it’s been a hot and cold season, with multiple 3 plus game winning and losing streaks. The team enters their last four games on a 2 game losing streak, with the latest being a 65-31 loss against a very strong Starkville team. The ladies have the opportunity to steer the ship in the right direction in their last four, as they’ll replay four district opponents. The Lady Arrows went 2-2 in that stretch, with 2 close victories, and losses coming by 13 and 16 points.
On the men’s side it’s been tough going all season long. The inexperienced Arrow team ran into a tough road to start the season, beginning 0-4 and haven’t quite been able to get back in the right direction since. The team will aim to win their first district game of the year in their final stretch, with the appearing best opportunity being an away game, at Madison Central, who the Arrows lost to by just 5 points.
This series will get started on January 27th with a trip to Murrah High School. The women are scheduled first at 6pm, with the men to follow.
