Spring family, community events planned for campground
Special to The Clinton Courier
Askew’s Landing RV Campground, a family-owned campground located just outside of Clinton, has announced announces three major events designed to bring families, outdoor enthusiasts, and the local community together for memorable weekends on the lake.
Beginning with the Jeeps Take Over Askew’s Rally from March 13–15, the fun will continue with a Spring Break Adventure Bash from March 20–29, followed by an Easter Eggstravaganza from April 3–5.
New owners purchased the park in June 2023 and have converted it from a long-term living RV park to a more short-term-focused camping resort. The owners also made updates and improvements and say they are currently focused on building out the park with more family-friendly activities and amenities.
During the March 13–15 Jeeps Take Over Askew’s Rally, the campground’s largest annual specialty Jeep lovers event, Jeep owners will gather for a high-energy weekend of fun, contests and community. The rally will feature Jeep games and competitions, a glow parade, lake activities, entertainment, fishing, and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend. Spectators are welcome, with day passes available for those who want to experience the excitement without camping overnight.
“This event will become a spring tradition for Jeep enthusiasts across Mississippi and Louisiana,” said campground owner Craig Alsup. “It’s not just about the vehicles—it’s about community, family, and bringing people together outdoors.”

The Jeeps Take Over Askew’s Rally is planned for March 13–15 at Askew’s Landing RV Campground.
With more than two hundred people already responding to the event online, organizers expect one of the largest Jeep gatherings in the region this spring.
March 21-29’s Spring Break Adventure Bash is designed for families looking for a close-to-home getaway during spring break. The Spring Break Adventure Bash will include fishing tournaments, crafts for kids, field games, cornhole, movie night and access to the campground’s amenities, including the fishing lake, playground, hiking trail, swimming pool and open recreation fields.
“Our goal is to give families an affordable, screen-free way to make memories together,” Alsup said. “You don’t have to travel far to feel like you’ve taken a real vacation.”
Day passes and overnight RV, cabin, and tent sites are available.
Askew’s Landing will close out its spring event series with its annual Easter Eggstravaganza, a weekend focused on family traditions and community fun, set for April 3-5.
The event will feature Easter egg hunts for multiple age groups, crafts, games, swimming, fishing and special Easter-themed activities throughout the weekend.
Organizers say families camping overnight will enjoy a relaxed lakeside atmosphere while participating in scheduled Easter activities. Day visitors are also welcome.
“We love creating moments where kids can run, laugh and just be kids,” Alsup said. “Events like Easter remind us why this place was built—to serve families.”
