On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, twenty-two high school students completed the Youth Leadership Jackson program during a graduation ceremony.

Robert A. Hampton, III, of Clinton High School was amongst those graduates.

Youth Leadership Jackson (YLJ) is a leadership development program which trains, motivates, and increases the awareness of selected high school students through leadership training, community-oriented seminars, and interaction with leaders who model exemplary citizenship and service to community.

YLJ is designed to expose young leaders to the various elements forming a strong and dynamic metropolitan area.

Many high school students are unaware of Metro Jackson (Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties) challenges and growth opportunities for their future.

Program participants’ outcomes present young leaders who are committed to positively impacting the Jackson metropolitan area and who aspire to become future civic and business leaders.

Along with the completion of this program, Robert has also served as a Mississippi House of Representatives Page and completed the inaugural United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Arborist Training Program.
