Turnage earns top scholarship honors

Sawyer Turnage, a senior at Clinton Christian Academy, recently earned the top prize in Mississippi College’s Select Scholars Competition, one of the university’s most competitive scholarship programs.
Turnage competed against over one hundred high-achieving students from across the United States in a rigorous selection process that included interviews, essays and evaluations of academic achievement, leadership and character. In total, she has earned over $150,000 in scholarships to be utilized at Mississippi College.
While at Clinton Christian Academy, Turnage earned the highest GPA and ACT score in the Class of 2026, and she was named both valedictorian and STAR Student.
This fall, Turnage plans to major in biology and pursue medical school. She has also been selected as a member of the Mississippi College cheerleading squad.
School officials say that Turnage’s accomplishments reflect dedication, discipline and a commitment to excellence, representing the Clinton community with distinction.
