Jayden Smith awarded Keesler Federal Educator Impact Award

Jayden Smith, a special education teacher at Eastside Elementary School, was recently awarded the Educator Impact Award from Keesler Federal Credit Union. Eastside is the Clinton Public School District’s (CPSD) fourth- and fifth-grade school.

Caitlin Bradshaw, Keesler Federal’s community development officer, surprised Smith with the award along with a $1,700 cash award. Eastside Elementary School also received $750 to support Smith’s continued excellence in the classroom.

CPSD Superintendent Dr. Andy Schoggin said Smith’s ability to demonstrate extraordinary patience and kindness sets him apart as an educator.

“He approaches each student with dignity, respect and an unwavering belief in their potential,” Schoggin said. “His calm, steady presence creates a safe and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially and emotionally at their own pace.”

CPSD Director of Special Services Dr. Jennifer Boykin praised Smith’s effective communication with parents, noting his commitment to ensuring families feel informed and involved in their child’s education.

“Jayden is also a true expert in his field,” Boykin said. “He consistently seeks out new learning opportunities, stays current with best practices and eagerly implements innovative strategies to better serve his students. His passion for special education is evident in everything he does, and his students benefit greatly from his knowledge, creativity and dedication.”
