2026 Clinton Arrows Swim Team begins season

The Clinton Arrows Swim Team is diving into the 2026 season stronger than ever, with forty-five athletes representing Clinton Junior High School, Sumner Hill Junior High School and Clinton High School. Under the leadership of coach Marcy Rushing, now beginning her eighth year guiding the Arrows, the team is poised for a strong season.

Over the coming weeks, swimmers will train toward achieving the MHSAA Class III qualifying standards for the North State Meet, scheduled for October 3, at the Delta State Aquatics Center in Cleveland, Mississippi. With a fresh roster, committed parents and a dedicated coach, the Arrows are ready to make waves throughout the season.

The team also carries the memory of Ashlee Sumrall, a beloved senior from last season who was tragically killed in a car accident. Her leadership and spirit remain a lasting part of the program. Presley Adkisson, who was also injured in the accident, will be cheering from the sidelines this year as she continues her recovery.

The Arrows, who began their season on August 15 with a meet against Germantown at Cypress Lake, will compete in four more regular-season meets, including two home events:

• August 29: Clinton High School vs. Madison Central at GRIT in Flowood

• September 3: Clinton High School vs. Northwest Rankin dual meet in Clinton

• September 12: Clinton High School Invitational (Senior Recognition) in Clinton

• September 26: Last Chance Meet at GRIT in Flowood (hosted by St. Andrew’s)

The top eight individual swimmers and top eight relay teams at the North State Meet will advance to the MHSAA State Meet in Tupelo on October 16.

“I’m so excited that our swim team is growing each year,” Rushing said. “Swimming is a great sport for everyone to enjoy. This young team is excited for the opportunity to achieve North State and State meet times this season. We are proud to represent the Clinton Arrows.”
