Crown Club seeking donations for Foster Comfort bags

Crown Club of Clinton members are gearing up for their November Foster Comfort Bag service project and are asking the Clinton community to join them in their efforts.

Crown Club chose November for their annual project, since it is National Adoption Month, which offers the opportunity to celebrate adoption and bring awareness to the community about not only children entering the foster system, but also the thousands of children in foster care waiting for a family to adopt them.

Club members are preparing comfort bags specifically for children entering foster care. Children entering the foster care system often arrive with few or no personal belongings, and many are historically handed a plastic trash bag to quickly gather what little they own.

All Foster Comfort Bags will be donated to Methodist Children’s Home of Mississippi, and additional items on the list that don’t go to create bags will be used to help children currently living there.

This is Crown Club’s third year to do this project, and last year they were able to donate 88 full bags, along with a large quantity of additional items from their list.

Crown Club’s hope is that their bags will help make life just a little bit easier for a child who is experiencing a very difficult time.
