CHS junior Taylor May scores perfect on ACT

A strong score on the American College Test is a goal for many high school students across the country. For one Clinton student, that goal has been met at the ultimate level.

Taylor May, a junior at Clinton High School, has become the fourth student at CHS to score a perfect score of 36.

May said she stayed up late on a Monday night awaiting her score, and when she learned of her perfect 36, she was very excited.

“I’ve always had scoring a 36 on the ACT as a goal of mine,” May said, “and achieving that goal during my junior year makes me happy.”

This was her seventh time taking the ACT. She first took the exam during the summer before her freshman year.

May is a participant in Clinton High School’s Humanities course, a class that helps juniors with test strategies and skills. She credits the class for helping her achieve a perfect score.
“Humanities helped me with my time management on the test,” she said. “It helped me learn how to pace myself.”

May is the first junior to score a 36 this year joining three other students who have scored perfect on the ACT — seniors Isaac Martinolich, Aaron Graves and Kevin Zhang.
