CAST – First Swim Meet
On Saturday, August 17th, the Clinton Arrows Swim Team competed in their first squad meet against six area swim teams. Both the Clinton Arrow women and men placed 3rd at this meet at the Cypress Lake swimming pool in Madison. Several relay teams qualified for North State swim meet.
- The Women’s 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Ashlee Sumrall, Abbie Rushing, Ellie Rushing, and Tejasvi Uppu finished 5th with a time of 2:17.51.
- The Men’s 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Reed Watts, Ross Gordon, Hayes Montgomery, and Joshua Ross finished 3rd with a time of 2:00.54.
- The Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Tejasvi Uppu, Ashlee Sumrall, Clara McCombs, and Ellie Rushing finished 5th with a time of 2:02.12.
- The Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Joshua Ross, Issac Baird, Reed Watts, and Hayes Montgomery finished 3rd with a time of 1:43.95.
In addition to the relay teams, the following swimmers made their qualifying times on individual events for North State meet.
- 50 Yard Freestyle – Issac Baird, Avery Peacock, Joshua Ross, Ellie Rushing, and Ashlee Sumrall
- 100 Yard Butterfly- Hayes Montgomery
- 100 Yard Freestyle – Ellie Rushing, Tejasvi Uppu, and Reed Watts
- 100 Yard Breaststroke – Kate Gilliam and Hayes Montgomery
Coach Marcy Rushing and swimmers hope Clinton fans will come out to support the team at their next home meet to be held at the Clinton YMCA on September 14. Go Arrows!
