Students attend TOPSoccer Jamboree
Each year, as part of an effort to grow as leaders through community service, Mrs. Freeman’s fifth-grade ACCENT students at Eastside Elementary School attend the TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) Jamboree. The TOPSoccer Jamboree is a community-based program that offers mentally and/or physically challenged children and young adults the opportunity to participate in meaningful and fun soccer games and activities in a structured environment that is safe, supportive and inclusive. The ACCENT students serve as volunteers to help set up, greet students as they arrive, lead games and assist their new friends as they play the games. Students, parent chaperones and teachers describe it as a truly heartwarming experience for all of them.
