Two Lady Arrows named to Clarion-Ledger All-State VB teams

The taste of the 2019 6A MHSAA Championship victory tasted sweet for the Lady Arrows and now tastes even sweeter knowing that two Lady Arrows continue to be honored for this season’s efforts.

Freshman Lakin Laurendine and sophomore Mallory Morris were both named to the Clarion Ledger’s All-State Volleyball team.

Laurendine was named to the All-State First Team and Morris to the All-State Second Team.

Clinton’s head coach Megan Brown said it’s always an honor to have a student athlete named to any post season list, but to have two underclassmen is unheard of in the state.

“I’m so proud of our entire program for all that it has accomplished in these two short seasons that I’ve been here as coach,” Brown said.

“Lakin and Mallory deserve all of the recognition possible for all that they have given to this program.”

Brown pointed out that the talent level in the central part of the state will grow as time goes on.

“Volleyball is growing in central Mississippi,” she said, “and these younger athletes are only pushing the boundaries even farther.

The two All-State honorees will return to the Lady Arrows’ 2020 lineup, looking to defend their state title.
