Dontrell McQuarter Tabbed NJCAA All-Region XXIII

UTICA – Sophomore Forward Dontrell McQuarter was named to the esteemed 2019-2020 NJCAA Region XXIII Men’s All-Region team today (Mar. 25) for his stellar performance on the court for the Hinds Community College Bulldogs, throughout the 2019-2020 season.

McQuarter is one of just ten players who received this honor.

McQuarter was instrumental in Hinds historic season where the Bulldogs racked up 16 total wins, finished just two games away from the NJCAA Men’s Division 1 Basketball Championship, and won their first MACJC State tournament game and first NJCAA Region 23 tournament game in over a decade.

Statistically, McQuarter started all 25 games for Hinds and led the team in multiple categories including: games started (25), total points scored (375), points per game (15.0), free throws made (85), and free throws attempted (120). McQuarter also tallied 151 rebounds, 72 assists, 25 steals, and blocked 13 shots.

Additionally, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 28.6 minutes per game and shot 56.5% from the field, 43.5% from the three-point line, and 70.8% from the free-throw line.

On top of being named to 2019-2020 NJCAA Region XXIII Men’s All-Region team, McQuarter was named MACJC First Team All-State, and was a member of the NJCAA Region XXIII All-Tournament Team.
