Clinton, Miss. (September 8, 2020) The City of Clinton will hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new Arrowhead Archery at Traceway Park on September 9, 2020 at 10 A.M. The new archery range at 200 Soccer Row will feature a 125’ x 15’ covered shooting shed, 3 D range and equipment room.
Arrowhead Archery will be located at 194 Soccer Row on the southeast corner of the soccer side of Traceway Park near offices of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Arrowhead Archery is a cooperative effort between the city of Clinton, Mississippi College, Clinton Public Schools, and CCA to build two archery ranges – a covered outdoor archery range and a 3D archery range.
City officials’ hope that the range will be a place for novices and experts alike to enjoy the rapidly growing sport. Archery as a sport, is growing exponentially in the USA. The number of Americans participating in archery stood at 21.6 million just a few years ago.
Parks and Recreation officials are working with the Director of Archery at the Mississippi High School Activities Association to provide opportunities for youth in the Metro Jackson area. In just over three years, archery in Mississippi Schools has grown to over 8,000 students participating in archery from the 5th grade to the 12th grade.
Bow hunters will use the targets to sharpen their aim for bow season. Outdoor enthusiasts could also utilize the space as a unique date experience.

All shooters must have an Arrowhead Archery Membership or day pass to utilize the facility. Passes may be purchased at the Clinton Parks and Recreation office once the facility opens. Online payment portals are being created purchase memberships and day passes.
Rules to provide the safest environment possible have been created. Usage fees that will be used to expand the facilities offerings and maintain adequate targets have also been established at an economical rate to encourage usage.
