Hinds Soccer Battles ICC to 1-1 Tie in OT

RAYMOND – The Hinds Eagles men’s soccer team battled it out with their North Division foe, the Itawamba Community College Indians, last Friday (Oct. 23) in a fall scrimmage that ended in 1-1 tie in overtime.

“This was a great fall scrimmage that had the intensity of a playoff game,” commented head soccer coach Doug Williams. “Both teams played extremely hard and gained invaluable experience, which is what you want in a scrimmage,” added Williams.

Hinds had the majority of possession in the match, but the scoring opportunities were even.

Kodai Tonaka (Japan) scored the lone goal for Hinds.

The Eagles will finish up their fall scrimmages this Friday, October 30 when they take on Jones College at home. The match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. on Tom Shepherd Field in Raymond.
