Clinton’s Therapeutic Recreation Department is preparing for a fun Challenger League basketball season, with registration open through December 18.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a limit on the number of participants that are allowed to register this year. Rather than having full court contact games, the department is making modifications to the way that they will play each night, with plans to keep teams small and manageable in order to cut down on risks associated with larger numbers.
Non-essential visitors, spectators and volunteers will be limited, and temperatures will be taken upon arrival. Hand sanitizer will be made available to those in attendance, as well.
Challenger League basketball will be held on Monday nights (excluding holidays) at 6 p.m. at the Baptist HealthPlex.
Registration, which is $10, requires the downloading of a form to complete and mail or drop off at the Wood Activity Center at 111 Clinton Boulevard, Clinton, MS 39056. Pre-registration is available to secure a spot while the form is being mailed or processed. Payments are due prior to the start of the season. Failure to pay on time may cause players to be placed on a waiting list based on availability. To pre-register or download the registration form, visit the Challenger League Sports page on www.ClintonMS.org.
