Charlottestories.com Article
Sports fans in Charlotte will have another team to cheer on next year when the newly formed Charlotte FC will take up their place in the US Major League Soccer division. There is still much work to do at the team who will play out of Bank of America Stadium for the 2022 campaign, with a head coach still to be decided.
That hasn’t stopped traders at the major apps concerning sports betting in USA make their early moves. Not only will Charlotte FC supporters be able to attend the stadium and roar their new representatives in soccer to victory, but they can also bet on the level of success the team will enjoy.
The major betting apps allow you to gamble on the MLS season outright, including outright winner, regular-season winner, top goalscorer, MVP and more. Each fixture involving Charlotte FC will have over 100 pre-match betting markets available, as well as plenty of in-game betting odds.

What fans can expect
What can soccer fans expect to see from Charlotte FC next season? That remains to be seen, of course. Moves, transfers, and appointments made at this stage will greatly impact how the club performs 12 months down the line. The team can’t simply be happy to take part. There are enough strong teams in MLS. They must arrive on the scene determined to battle for prizes. The owners want to see them shake things up.
The backroom staff have been busy laying the foundations for next season. As well as sounding out players and coaches, they have also been making connections and building bridges with the biggest names in the sport. Charlotte FC has created ripples in US sports but is also catching the eye worldwide.
That much was obvious when CLTFC announced they had thrashed out discussions with former English Premier League champions Leicester City. The Foxes cleared the way for Charlotte to make their first major signing of the year, bagging Christian Fuchs from the British club. Fuchs won the English title with Leicester in 2016 and played for the UEFA Champions League club.

Defence the best form of attack
What is a player of Fuchs standing, who has performed at the top level of the game in Europe doing signing for a new team in the MLS? It’s a move that caught soccer fans on both sides of the Atlantic by surprise, but Fuchs moved quickly to clear things up. He told reporters when the move was announced. He is excited by the vision shown by Charlotte and how they are targeting success.
The 35-year-old defender will expect to play most of Charlotte’s MLS games next season if he is free from injury. He’ll be determined to use his experiences in the sport to ensure Charlotte’s defence is a formidable one. They may be a new addition, but they must make themselves difficult to break down if they have any level of success.
Before joining Leicester, Fuchs was employed by German Bundesliga side Schalke where he was known as a no-nonsense defender always eager to put his body on the line for the good of the team. His stats at Leicester read 152 appearances with nine this season when the club narrowly missed out on a top-four finish and spot in next season’s Champions League.
Manager Brendan Rodgers, formerly of Liverpool and Glasgow Celtic, will push to replace Fuchs with a younger version. What the club loses in experience, they will hope to gain in promise and scope for improvement. Leicester have failed to make the top-four on the last day of the season in the previous two years. That heaps pressure on Northern Irishman Rodgers to get things right during the 2021/22 season.
Building a competitive team
Charlotte’s sporting director Zoran Krneta couldn’t hide his delight at finally announcing the arrival of Fuchs. Speaking to the international sporting press, he said Fuchs is a versatile defender who will play a huge role in building a competitive team from day one.
Soccer fans already looking forward to the 2022 MLS season and cheering on Charlotte FC will hope the arrival of Fuchs is just the start. They’ll want to see the club stick to this standard of player and attract other well-known names from the English Premier League and across Europe.
