Inclusive Kickball closes season with record crowd

The Clinton Courier

On Monday, September 26, Clinton’s Therapeutic Recreation Department concluded its three-game Challenger League/Buddy Kickball season with a game at the Clinton High School softball field. For this season, Challenger League players paired with a friend or family member (“buddies”) for inclusive teams that were 1-to-1 with individuals with disabilities and community players.

Cheered on by their families and friends, who were joined by Clinton High School students and CHS softball players, the players and their buddies donned Arrow jerseys for their final game. The CHS Student Council, softball boosters and other volunteers served meals and handed out gift bags to the players and their “buddies.”

Challenger League 2022-23 includes the sports of soccer, kickball, basketball, softball and bowling. For more information about the programs and offerings of the Clinton Therapeutic Recreation Department, call 601-924-6387.
