The fall should see the reopening of a popular breakfast spot in Clinton, while the spring should bring a new business which will offer freshly-made food and a fill-up for cars, too. And there’s roast beef in the city’s future, as well.
Clinton’s Waffle House plans to reopen near I-20 and Springridge Road after a renovation and expansion of the interior of the restaurant and the addition of a full glass front and some landscaping on the exterior.
“Currently, we project a renovation completion date near the end of this month, with a projected opening the first week of November, providing the project remains on schedule,” said Waffle House’s Vice President of Public Relations Njeri Boss.
A short distance away on the opposite side of the interstate, there’s been plenty of progress in building a QuikTrip store on the old Shoney’s property on Springridge. The 4,900 square foot convenience store will be equipped with QT Kitchens, providing made-fresh-to-order food and drink items, as well as grab and go sandwiches, salads and wraps, said Aisha Jefferson-Smith, corporate communications manager for the QuikTrip Corporation.
The store will also have “eight gasoline dispensers for customers to fuel up,” Jefferson-Smith said. Earlier, the company had projected an opening date in late April 2023, but construction has proceeded at a faster pace, and QuikTrip now expects the store to be ready about six weeks sooner, with an opening sometime in March.
On Highway 80 at the old Bumper’s location, site work continues for a new Arby’s restaurant. The company did not respond to a request for an update on the project.
