New hotel coming to Clinton, in time

A hotel which caters to visitors who plan to stay more than a few days in Clinton is on the horizon. Home2 Suites by Hilton will be located next door to the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Hampstead Boulevard. The Board of Aldermen approved a conditional use permit for the project at its December 6 meeting.

“It’s going to be an extended stay hotel,” said Vishal Barot of New Vision Ventures, which is developing the property. “Each room will have a full kitchenette with a full-size fridge, a dishwasher, all the amenities.”

Barot said the four-story hotel will have eighty-four units to accommodate guests who typically stay from three nights to almost six months, depending on why they’re visiting Clinton. He expects to be ready to apply for a construction permit in the third quarter of next year.

Depending on the weather, work on the hotel might begin before the end of 2023 – but maybe not until the spring of 2024. Barot said it could take twelve to sixteen months to finish the project.

“There are some things that are unpredictable,” he said, “but we’ve been a developer for over twenty years locally,” building other hotels in the Jackson area. “This is not our first rodeo.”
