Lady Arrows XC team finishs 4th at State Meet

The Lady Arrows Cross Country Team finished a strong season with a fourth place finish in the MHSAA 7A State Meet. The Lady Arrows compiled 156 points between their five scoring finishers. Tupelo finished first with 46 points, Hernando finished second with 96 points, and Madison Central finished third with 99 points.

Junior Kaedyn Wilson finished ninth, with a time of 20:28.18. Eighth grader Riley Moore finished 31st, with a time of 21:46.50, with fellow eighth grader Caroline Henry finishing just behind in 32nd, with a time of 21:52.46. Freshman Ellen Claire Fortenberry finished in the Top 40, with a time of 22:21.75 and freshman Tejasvi Uppu rounded out the scoring with a time of 23:14.07.

The Top 10 finish earned Kaedyn Wilson All-State Honors.

The Lady Arrows will have all five scorers in each meet returning for the 2024 season, and Head Coach Allen Marett believes that the future is bright for the Lady Arrows Cross Country team.

“It’s a fun group of girls to coach,” said Marett. “When one girl is down, the others step up and fill in the gap.”
