The Clinton High School soccer teams had plenty of representation at the Randy West All-Star Games on Tuesday, July 9.

Lady Arrow players Kate Crisler and Isabella Jones, along with Head Coach Elliot Rimmer and Assistant Coach Matthew Bobo, were selected to represent the North All-Star Girls’ Team in the all-star girls’ soccer game on the campus of Brandon High School. On the boys’ side, Arrow Soccer forward Erick Martinez was recognized as a member of the North All-Star Team, despite an injury sustained in the spring.

“It was really special to play with all these great players,” Crisler said. “It was a fun and competitive game. It was fun to meet other people and play soccer with people you usually don’t play with.”

Crisler and Jones were two of thirty-six players selected for the soccer match from around the state. The game is hosted by the Mississippi Association of Coaches (MAC) as part of the association’s 2024 Coaching Clinic.

“This event was one of the first senior year events, and it feels that we are entering the final chapter,” Jones said. “It was really fun to compete with and against the top soccer players in Mississippi. It was even more special that Coach Rimmer was coaching us in this event.”

Though he was unable to play, Martinez said he felt honored to be selected for the North All-Star Team and among thirty-six other players in Mississippi.

“It is an honor, and I wish I could play,” Martinez said. “However, I am really proud of everyone that is being recognized and glad to be among them.”

Crisler and Jones guided the Lady Arrows to a 15-5-2 overall record and a MHSAA Class 7-A North Half Championship title during the 2023-24 season. Crisler, who is a midfielder, scored one goal and collected five assists. Jones, who plays as a defender, scored one goal and assisted nine.

For the Arrows, Martinez scored twelve goals and set up three goals in the boys’ team’s 18-3-3 season. Clinton won the MHSAA Region 2-7A Title during the 2023-24 season.
