Decorated trees needed to create library’s winter wonderland

The Clinton Courier

During the month of December, the Quisenberry Library is expected to resemble a winter wonderland, according to Brittany Moore, library branch manager.

Community organizations, schools, businesses, churches and individuals are encouraged to help adorn the interior of the library with uniquely decorated Christmas trees. Each interested group or individual is asked to bring a tree and décor to set up in the library to help create a festive environment for the community to enjoy during December.

Prior to the pandemic, the library’s winter décor included upwards of forty-five community-decorated trees scattered throughout the library

“We want to bring back our former Christmas wonderland, and we need enthusiastic community support,” Moore said.

Tree themes can be related to the organization’s mission, if desired. For example, a veterinary office may choose to decorate their tree with ornaments of dogs and cats.

Set up and decoration of trees is already in progress and will extend through the end of November. There is no charge for tree set-up, and plaques for each tree will be furnished. While it is suggested to call the library before bringing in a tree, it is not absolutely necessary; and no registration is required.

“This is a community service for the library, but it’s also a great way for community organizations to get some free advertising and inform people about their services,” said Moore.

With its unique setting in the woods, the library becomes a festive place during the entire month of December, and Clintonians are encouraged to drop by the library for a magical tour of the Christmas tree exhibits inside.

The setting provides another special opportunity for Clintonians, said Moore.

“Many families who are not able to take family pictures for various reasons use this time to snap those holiday family photos,” she said.

All trees will remain on display in the library throughout December, and participants are asked to remove trees and decorations during the first full week of January.
