Nature Center plans spring break camps

The Clinton Community Nature Center has scheduled two day camps in March. The Trailblazers Spring Session is set for March 10-11, and the Nature Explorers Spring Session is March 17-19.
The Trailblazers Day Camp will feature outdoor nature sessions for people with special needs, ages sixteen and older. It will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through 2 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, March 10-11. Led by Sheila Williams, the Nature Center’s president and a retired special education educator, the schedule will include guided outdoor exploration and arts and crafts hands-on learning activities.
The Nature Explorers Day Camp, designed for ages five through eight (K-2nd grade), is set for Monday through Wednesday, March 17-19. It will begin at 8 a.m. and continue through 4 p.m. Themed outdoor lessons are planned for these campers, along with guided hikes and nature talks by guest speakers. Discovery Play in the Play Forest will enhance the day for the Nature Explorers.
The Nature Center, located at 617 Dunton Road, has activities throughout the year and is ready for spring, with the meteorological spring beginning March 1 and the astronomical spring starting March 20.
“These two amazing camps in March will offer memorable experiences, highlighted with adventure and education,” said Claire Floyd, Nature Center co-director of administration and grant development.
The 32-acre Nature Center has two and a half miles of walking trails that connect with the Quisenberry Library. Opening in 1997, it was made possible by the donation of property by the Price family and offers a site for the appreciation and enjoyment of nature.
