Special to The Clinton Courier

Amber Amis
Amber Elizabeth Amis, the daughter of Gary and Sonya Amis and a 2022 Clinton High School graduate, was one of ten seniors recently inducted into the University of Mississippi’s 2025-26 Student Hall of Fame. Students are selected for the Hall of Fame in accordance with a policy developed by the Associated Student Body and are based on outstanding contributions in all aspects of campus life.
“These outstanding students exemplify excellence at Ole Miss after being chosen from a highly competitive pool of candidates across the graduating class,” said Bradley Baker, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students. “Their selection speaks to their remarkable leadership, dedication and commitment to making a difference during their time at the university. Together, they have set the standard for achievement and leave behind a legacy that will continue to inspire future students.”
Amis studied integrated marketing communications in the School of Journalism and New Media and had a double/dual major in pre-med. University officials say she demonstrated leadership, scholarship and service throughout her time at the University of Mississippi and served in numerous roles, including President of the Jackson Free Clinic Health Ambassadors, co-founder and Philanthropy Director of SPAID Ole Miss, treasurer for the Public Relations Student Society of America, outreach chair for the Clinical Experience Network and research assistant in public health. Her campus involvement includes the Stamps Scholarship, Honors College, Ole Miss Ambassadors, Panhellenic recruitment leadership. Kappa Delta membership, and tutoring and mentorship roles.
Amis contributed more than two hundred service hours and is a published co-author in multiple peer-review journals. She has earned honors including the Chancellor’s Leadership Award, Dean’s Award and membership in Phi Kappa Phi and Order of Omega. She says she hopes to be remembered for her commitment to service, her compassion for others and her dedication to improving community health and student wellbeing.
