Clinton athletic teams shine in classroom

Clinton High School athletic teams continued to show dedication not only in competition, but also inside the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year.
All twenty-six Clinton varsity sports teams achieved a cumulative grade-point average of three point zero or higher and were recognized by the Mississippi High School Activities Association as Scholar-Athlete Teams for the 2025-26 school year.
“Our student-athletes, coaches, and teachers who are a part of Clinton athletics have done an amazing job this school year, once again,” Clinton Athletics Director Judd Boswell said. “Twenty-six sports teams have met the mark set by the Mississippi High School Activities Association for the Scholar-Athlete Team award, which is a combined team grade-point average of three point zero or higher.”
“This is a remarkable achievement and a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our Lady Arrows and Arrows on and off the field. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the positive representation they bring to our school district,” Boswell added.
Fifteen of Clinton’s twenty-six varsity teams achieved a combined grade-point average of three point five or higher. Girls tennis led the way with a cumulative grade-point average of three point nine six nine, while boys tennis and girls soccer tied for the second-highest team grade-point average at three point eight two eight.
Girls golf, girls swim, boys cross country, boys swim, softball, girls archery, girls cross country, boys golf, volleyball, girls track and field, baseball and boys soccer rounded out the list of Clinton teams that achieved a three point five grade-point average or higher.
Other Clinton teams recognized as Mississippi High School Activities Association Scholar-Athlete Teams were boys bowling, girls bowling, cheer, girls powerlifting, girls basketball, esports, boys track and field, boys archery, football, boys powerlifting and boys basketball.
