Clinton resident releases memoir sharing love story and faith journey

Sharon E. Miller, a nineteen-year Clinton resident, has released her debut memoir, My Montana Man: Unexpected Love. Unshakable Faith.

The book traces Miller’s life, beginning with a move to Florida and the difficult years that followed, including starting over with nothing, learning to survive as a single mother and finding her faith. It was during that season that she met her husband, Mike, the “Montana Man” of the title.

What follows is both a love story and a faith journey. The memoir chronicles four decades of marriage, the ups and downs of raising a family, adventurous travels around the world and the couple’s eventual move to Clinton, Mississippi. Miller writes candidly about hope, forgiveness and courage, as well as harder chapters of life, including caring for a parent with dementia and saying goodbye to loved ones. The book includes family photographs in its closing pages.

“I wrote this for my family, but my hope is that anyone who has ever doubted or wondered if God was still working will find encouragement in these pages,” Miller said.

Miller and her husband have called Clinton home since 2007 and have attended Pinelake Church in Clinton since the church opened a campus in 2009. She spent much of her career teaching technology and writing manuals, yet her deeper calling has always been to point others toward truth, hope and purpose. Now retired, she writes stories of faith, reminding readers that God is at work even in the hardest chapters of life.
