Friday Nights at Milepost 89 Presents: The Beagles!

Join us Friday, September 18 at 6:30 P.M. at the Clinton Visitor Center for an evening with The Beagles—a unique “pack” of musicians bringing together New Orleans jazz, Memphis blues, country, gospel, contemporary music, and a touch of soul!

The Beagles are known for their music featuring favorites by Patsy Cline, Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, Elvis, Crystal Gayle, James Taylor, the Doobie Brothers, and more, along with jazz hymn arrangements and gospel songs.

The current pack includes Curtis Carter on keyboard and vocals, Sherry Brown on clarinet, David McCoy on drums and harmonica, and Wilson Karges on dobro. Guest musicians sometimes join the pack, creating a different musical combination from performance to performance. And really—how often do you get to hear a dobro and clarinet on the same stage?

The group originally operated as a music co-op, with different musicians coming together depending on availability. When people began asking, “Does the band have a name?” the group eventually became The Beagles—because, as the story goes, the “Rat Pack” was already taken!

Friday Nights at Milepost 89 takes place on the third Friday of each month at the Clinton Visitor Center. Bring a friend, relax, and enjoy some great music in a unique setting!

The Visitor Center is located at 1300 Pinehaven Road at Milepost 89 on the Natchez Trace Parkway. For more details call 601-924-2221.
