Revell Ace Hardware and Revell Outdoor Power recently presented a check for $10,318 to the American Cancer Society’s Gertrude C. Ford Hope Lodge in Jackson, representing the proceeds from a special raffle featuring a limited-edition Pink Warrior SCAG Patriot zero-turn mower.
The fundraiser brought together local businesses, customers and community members in support of Hope Lodge, which provides free lodging and transportation for cancer patients who must travel to the Jackson area for treatment.
Joe Rooks of Revell explained that the idea grew from SCAG Power Equipment’s own commitment to supporting breast cancer awareness and research.
“SCAG is donating $250 per unit to the Susan G. Komen Foundation,” Rooks said. “We wanted to get on board and do something for a local cancer organization. We decided to donate a Pink Warrior mower, hold a raffle and chose the Hope Lodge as our charity.”
The distinctive Pink Warrior mower, featuring a bright pink design in recognition of breast cancer awareness, became the centerpiece of the fundraising effort. Raffle tickets were sold for $25 each with 100 percent of the raffle proceeds designated for Hope Lodge.
For patients undergoing cancer treatment, Hope Lodge provides much more than a place to sleep. Its services help ease the financial and emotional burdens associated with staying away from home for medical care.
“We provide free lodging and transportation for guests facing surgery and treatments for cancer,” said Erica Arrington of Hope Lodge. “We try to make their accommodation and stay as nice as possible. We want to thank Revell Ace and Outdoor Power and everyone that participated for their wonderful support!”
The fundraiser concluded with the drawing of the winning ticket and a phone call to the lucky winner, Michael Crum.

Ford Hope Lodge in Jackson. The raffle, sponsored by Revell Ace Hardware and Revell Outdoor Power, raised $10,318 to help provide free lodging and transportation for cancer patients and their caregivers.
Crum’s reaction upon learning that he had won the limited-edition mower was immediate and enthusiastic.
“You’ve got to be kidding! Awesome!” he exclaimed.
While Crum took home a one-of-a-kind mower, the larger victory belongs to the patients and caregivers who will benefit from the funds raised.
The $10,318 contribution reflects the generosity of area residents who purchased tickets and supported the fundraiser, demonstrating how a local business initiative can have a lasting impact on the community.
Revell Ace Hardware and Revell Outdoor Power expressed their appreciation to everyone who participated and helped turn the Pink Warrior raffle into a successful effort for a worthy cause.
The fundraiser’s message, “Power With a Purpose,” proved fitting as a unique piece of outdoor power equipment became a way for neighbors to help neighbors facing some of life’s most difficult challenges.
Revell Outdoor Power operates a dedicated outdoor power equipment store in Pearl and serves customers through Revell Ace Hardware locations in downtown Brandon, Byram, Clinton, Madison, NE Jackson, Reservoir, and Richland/Florence.
