Raingutter Regatta planned for ABILITIES program families

Raingutter Regatta Families in the City of Clinton Therapeutic Recreation Department’s ABILITIES program are invited to a Raingutter Regatta on Saturday, November 7, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Cub Scout Pack 88 will join the Abilities Program for the morning of miniature sailboat racing.  Participants race their boats through water-filled gutters, blowing into the sails to push them toward the finish line.

The event is free for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their family and friends.  Participants will build their own boats, and Pack 88 will provide all the supplies.  No experience is needed, and organizers describe the regatta as a chance for families to try something new, enjoy time together and make memories.  Friends and family are encouraged to come cheer on the sailors.

Advance registration is required. Those who wish to participate can register at bit.ly/4zuzdRb.  The Raingutter Regatta will be held at the A.E. Wood Activity and Therapeutic Center at 111 Clinton Boulevard.

For more information, contact Pack 88 leaders Adam Rohnke at 601-519-7000 or Jennifer Alford at 601-966-3626.
