5 things you need to know before doing WoW Delves

Before embarking on your new and exciting WoW Delves journey, these are the five critical WoW Delves tips you should be aware of.

Unlocking Delve Tiers

When your character enters a delve, it begins at Tier 1, while all the other tiers are greyed out. Only the first three tiers will unlock till you reach level 80. However, after reaching level 80, completing the campaign on your first character, and having at least 548 gear in every slot, you will unlock access to tier 4 delves. These were the gear requirements for WoW Delves. Completing a delve tier will eventually unlock the next tier upto tier 11, which is the maximum.

When you finish a tier in one delve, your Warband and you can access that tier level in all other Delves. You can select the tier and view the level, general hazards, and prizes on the delve screen.

Delve Location

Several delves are located in various locations, which are:

Isle Of Dorn

  • Earthcrawl Mines

  • Kriegval’s Rest

  • Fungal Folly

Hallowfall

  • Skittering Breach

  • Nightfall Sanctum

  • The Sinkhole

  • Mycomancer Cavern

The Ringing Deep

  • The Waterworks

  • The Dread Pit

Azj-Kahet

  • The Underkeep

  • The Spiral Weave

  • Tak-Rethan Abyss

  • Zekvir’s Lair

Zekvir’s Lair in Azj Kahet will commence at some point after The War Within’s launch.

Delve Rewards

The most common delve rewards, WoW Delves best practices, and WoW Delves high-level advice are:

  • Every Delve concludes with a Treasure Room filled with Heavy Trunks containing personal loot such as quest items, cosmetics, companion upgrades, Undercoin Undercoin, Resonant Crystal Resonant Crystals, and gear customized to your class and level.

  • Through Tier 8, the tier rewards are better. You will still receive rewards in Tiers 9–11, but they will not be as excellent caliber as those in Tier 8. Tier 11 is mainly for accomplishments and bragging rights.

  • The gear awarded in Delve chests will increase in difficulty until it reaches a maximum item level comparable to the Heroic Raid or Mythic +5 keys.

  • You can upgrade the gear obtained by finishing several delve missions in the Great Vault to Heroic raid or Mythic 15+ dungeon gear.

  • There will be increased rewards for finishing Delves by a weekly global event called the Delves Bonus Event.

Common Delve Features

All the delves possess similar features, which are:

  • Your general objective is to kill a certain proportion of enemies, complete a brief set of goals, or locate and save a predetermined quantity of objects or NPCs. Usually, this is laid out among multiple levels or rooms.

  • Use ropes or bouncy mushrooms to go from one level to another. It is painful to go back under these conditions, so pay attention.

  • There are risks like area-of-effect traps, objects you must carry that provide temporary protection, ground effects, etc. The four words that sum up most delves’ dangers are: do not stand in it.

  • After achieving this objective, you must defeat an end boss or final encounter, which could be a sequence of ambushes.

  • Now that all the dangers are passed, you can enter the Treasure Room to start winning.

Other than that, the delves have many positive features, including looting many valuable items after defeating elites.

Delve Types

There are five themes in which delves fall. According to the beginner guide to WoW Delves, each of them has its hazards and mobs. They, including some of the best characters for WoW Delves, are:

Fungarian Delves

Its common mobs include Fungal Gutter, Infected Beast, and Gnarled Reviver. However, its hazards include Sporbits, like floating traps, which can not be killed and follow players, growing and casting a powerful Sporesplosion at 1hp. They are fast and challenging to avoid, and other mobs in Fungarian dungeons have knockback mechanics.

Kobold Delves

Its common mobs include Kobold Mystic, Kobold Thwacker, and Kobold Skullface. However, Kobold Delves features atmospheric mechanics that lower health, such as choking vapors and smothering shadows. This can be countered by carrying a unique candle or air totem, but the radius gets less with each step. Candle flamethrowers indicate a safe crossing by blocking pathways and shooting several jets.

Nerubian Delves

Its common mobs include Nerubian Slasher, Nerubian Threadmancer, and Ascended Webfriar. However, some cons are that Nerubian Webs slow movement and spawn mobs when stepped on. Web Spreaders create more webs unless destroyed. Nerubian Eggs spread Crawler Eggs but explode on contact or damage. AoE damage doesn’t damage them. Thus, you should avoid tab-targeting and watch your steps to prevent these issues.

Kobyss Delves

Its common mobs include Kobyss Witherer, Kobyss Trickster, and Kobyss Casters. Even though Kobyss live underwater, their Delves apply Aquatic Hex, preventing swimming. Instead, they bounce-walk along the bottom. Air Bubbles refresh breath and speed. Jumping off ledges can lead to death, making it easy to forget you are not swimming.

Shadow Caster Delves

Its common mobs include Nightfall Hopestealer, Nightfall Initiate, and Nightfall Executer. While using it, you should stay clear of the big, pulsating purple circles on the ground. Entering them triggers Spotted!, which showers your head with projectiles. Luckily, these are slow-moving and easily avoided because of their predictability.
