Main Street launches “Destination Dining” campaign

Now that Olde Towne has more dining options than ever before, Main Street Clinton is trying to encourage hungry people to make the historic district their destination, even if they’re not quite sure what type of food they want.

Main Street Clinton has installed twenty banners along the Main Street Clinton Boulevard Business District.

Main Street Clinton has installed twenty banners along the Main Street Clinton Boulevard Business District.

“The thought is, when you’re wanting to go out and dine with friends, sometimes you know right where you’re going,” says Main Street Program Director Tara Lytal. “Other times, [you say] ‘Let’s go to Renaissance, there’s lots of options there.’ So, we wanted to get the word out that we can be that destination dining, that we have multiple places that you can come and dine.”

Main Street is promoting those options with a new “Destination Dining” social media campaign.

“I’m amazed that people don’t know what we’ve got downtown,” Lytal says.

The passport-style campaign points out the wide range of food that’s available in Olde Towne, with restaurants including 303 Jefferson, Krilakis, The Bank by Pizza Shack and Brick Street Burgers, along with Coach’s Creamery, Meme’s Bakery, Cups Espresso Café, Catering by Cathy and The Spring Nutrition.

And, with everything in close proximity, Lytal says a family could dine together or split up, with Mom and Dad, for example, enjoying a meal at 303 Jefferson or Krilakis while the kids take a short walk to The Bank for pizza or to Brick Street Burgers for a sandwich.

Destination Dining comes on the heels of Main Street’s “Love Local” campaign, which featured social media videos promoting local businesses and hearts decorations downtown during February.

The Boulevard Business District is also getting some attention. Main Street has purchased twenty new banners which have been installed along Clinton Boulevard promoting the business district.
