Final spring Dinner and a Movie set for May 22
By Sherry Lucas
The movie Kicking & Screaming is the final installment in spring’s Dinner and a Movie Series from Main Street Clinton, starting at dusk Friday, May 22, on the brick streets, at the corner of Jefferson and Leake streets in Olde Towne.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket, pillows or chairs for comfortable seating to enjoy the community conviviality and camaraderie at this outdoor event.
Robert Duvall and Will Ferrell star in the lighthearted 2005 family sports comedy, which also features Mike Ditka, Josh Hutcherson and Kate Walsh. In it, an over-competitive father and his grown son (sweet and scarred by a childhood under that pressure), use their own sons’ soccer teams to try to best each other.
Can the men overcome problems of the past and win-at-all-costs obsessions to prioritize teamwork and familial love and support? Maybe, with a few laughs along the way.
Main Street Clinton selected Kicking & Screaming as a nod to America hosting the FIFA World Cup, Main Street Clinton Program Director Tara Lytal said, with hopes of getting the Mississippi Brilla FC minor league team to make an appearance before the movie.
Settle in for soccer, snickers, snacks and sips from Olde Towne eateries, and make a night of the fun.
