Special to The Clinton Courier

The Clinton Genealogical and Historical Society will welcome Heather Moore at its meeting on Tuesday, November 10. Moore serves as the assistant director for the Mississippi Baptist Historical Commission as well as the head of special collections for the MC Archives. She will present a program entitled, “Mississippi College: 200 years of higher education in Clinton.”

Nelson Hall at Mississippi College

Mississippi College was established in 1826 as Hampstead Academy in Clinton. Although the college experienced many changes of ownership, administration and students in the past two hundred years, it continues a tradition of quality higher education and shares a close relationship with the City of Clinton.

The public is invited to attend the free event, which will start at 6 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church, located at 1475 East Northside Drive.
