Freshman midfielder Morrison Hashii (Tottori, Japan) was named the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Player of the Week for his exceptional performances against NWCC and ICC last week.
Hashii scored two goals in Hinds’ 6-1 victory over Northwest Mississippi Community College (NWCC) last Tuesday (Oct. 1) and added another goal in the Eagles 3-2 win over Itawamba Community College (ICC) last Friday (Oct. 4).
This season Hashii has tallied six goals and four assists in the nine games he has played in.
Eagles atop North Division
Currently, Hinds (6-4-1, 5-1) is on a two-game winning streak and is tied for first place with ICC in the MACJC North Division. If the Eagles can win their next two games, they will host the state playoffs at home on Tom Sheppard field, and receive a first round bye which automatically puts them in the State Semifinals.
Heading into the final two regular season games, head coach Doug Williams stated, “we are healthy and I feel like we are starting to play our best soccer, both which are crucial this time of year. We still have some challenges ahead as our last two games are on the road against two quality opponents who are fighting for playoff spots.”
Hinds will take on East Central Community College (ECCC) in Decatur this Friday (Oct. 11) at 7:00 p.m. They will conclude their regular season against Holmes Community College in Goodman on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at 7:00 p.m.
