Maximizing Organizational Efficiency by Using Mechanistic and Organic Models
Many companies have started to focus on marketing and promotional activities because of the success these have shown in terms of increasing sales and customer satisfaction. However, the term is quite vague and may even be confused with other related terms. An organic learning organization is one of the best examples. The scope of this learning institution is quite wide but covers an array of different topics from manufacturing to healthcare, just to mention a few. Organic and mechanical learning organizations differ in the sense that they enable members to freely express themselves in their forms and functionalities.
Manufacturing And Departmentalization
These are the two main concerns when it comes to the study of marketing structures. In manufacturing, it focuses on production methods and various processes involved in it. On the other hand, departmentalization is all about the management of material flows in an organizational structure. These two are fused and form a very complex system.
Although the term is vague and may even be used for non-learning organizations, it still has a meaning that will be useful for future educational and training establishments. The meaning is clear though, and that is to say that both mechanistic and organic structures are important components of any educational or training institution. Modern educational methods have evolved to include online channels such as Twitch. This may be primarily a gaming website, educational live streams are common, with many live streaming companies finding ways to buy Twitch followers and popularize their content.
This is why both these terms are so commonly used in the field of organizational studies. Just as the name implies, a mechanistic learning organization emphasizes the basic elements of an educational institution while organic ones emphasize the management structures within such an organization.
Terms and Definitions
Some terms might be used that might not necessarily be familiar to everyone. The terms, for instance, that pertain to marketing can be viewed as covering the complete range of processes involved in marketing. The same goes for the definition of promotion itself, which is, in fact, a broad term that includes several subtopics. Similarly, in order to cover the complete range of areas involved in organization and administration, one has to include a number of specialized terms like control systems, control measures, and process optimization. All of these subtopics, however, are related to the core areas of organization and administration.
Analysis
One of the most important things that all people involved in organizational studies have to do is to define and analyze the relationship between the core theoretical assumptions of the field and their application in real life. Thus, it is very important that the job designs of every learning organization should include a good mixture of theory and practice. Just like in any other field, there are certain boundary conditions that have to be satisfied for a system to be called as ‘efficient’ or ‘more efficient’ (in comparison to other similar systems) – these boundaries are also the limits beyond which any system can go.
The boundary conditions for the organization and management, therefore, are not just relevant inside an organization but also have relevance outside an organization. For instance, they are important for planning the operation of a manufacturing plant. In fact, no matter what type of organization one is dealing with, whether it is a rigid organization or an organic learning structure, it is essential for the overall efficiency of that particular structure. To illustrate this fact, we can take the example of rigid processes.
Processing Data
If we want our mechanistic organization to function properly, it should be capable of processing large quantities of data at the same time. And if we want our organic structures to be highly efficient, we should not allow the narrow span of time during which a particular input is processed, to reduce the overall efficiency level. On the contrary, we should allow enough processing power so that the input processing times are cut down and the overall efficiency level is increased.
But although the narrow span of time may serve a useful purpose for rigid or very complex processes, it has the exact opposite effect on highly adaptive and flexible ones. Since highly flexible and highly adaptive processes tend to respond quickly to inputs, the overall efficiency level can be increased without reducing the overall effectiveness of the organization. On the other hand, a highly rigid organization does not have the option of increasing its efficiency level by making changes in its organizational structure. So even while the organizational structure is extremely important, the importance of proper inputs is even more so.
